This last weekend I took a long break from technology while I enjoyed our Annual Cousin Cabal!! There is not a finer group of individuals I would rather spend our one summer vacation with! The Sorensen clan is a barrel of fun! Even though the weather was super stormy we packed in the fun! Enjoying beautiful Bear Lake, playing games, eating food, talent show/gift of self, catching up on each others life's, hiking through huge caves... it was a blast. Jane was the lucky guest baby (usually it's no kids allowed) and she was so good!! She was passed about, being held by all. She hardly fussed at all, ate her first sand, stayed up really late and loved being with the "big kids". And she loved having special time with Uncle Spencer, Uncle Matt and Aunt Paige!
We had so much fun caballing together and laughing and catching up. I also made a little area to write letters to Grandma & Grandpa Sorensen. They are the creators of such a fine group and have taught us to love tradition, sharing/developing talents and loving time with family! They are an amazing duo! And each of their children (my mother & aunts & uncles) have taught and instilled the great importance of these principles as well. We are very blessed!
So, remember those huckleberries we picked...here is what we created with them! Huckleberry Lemon Tarts. They were Devine!!!! I think we need to go pick 1,000's more so we can make these year round!!! I'll post the recipe in a bit. They really were incredible. I don't think I got a final photo before they were gobbled up, but you also drizzle a glaze and I added a tad bit of lemon zest on top. A perfect treat to end a Cabal!
