December is here and it makes me so happy! I always want this month to last longer than it does, because it is so full of things I love. I love the smells, the sounds and music, the colors, the decorations, the reminders of Christ, the traditions and the symbols of Christmas.
As Thanksgiving came to a close I reflected upon the wonderful thankful month we come out of and how we then jump into the month where many worry about what to buy or what they want for Christmas. The greatest gift of the holidays is the Savior. The greatest present we all have received is the opportunity to repent and take part in his Atonement. The greatest symbol of this season is the humble manger holding the Son of God wrapped in swaddling clothes with a bright star in the heavens. I am so thankful for the joy of Christmas. When we say "Merry Christmas" do we remember who's name the holiday bears; Christ. He is the reason for the season. He is the reason we may have the joy of Christmas in our hearts all year long!
As we countdown to the celebration and excitement of Christmas let us each day ponder, reflect and remember the Christ!
