The last few nights have been really rough for Jane, I'm guessing dreaded teething is the cause. Last night she had a really hard time calming down so into bed she came with me. This has not happened in a looooong time. She'll never sleep when she's in our bed because there is too much to see and people's faces to touch. But she was peaceful and calm sleeping on my arm (which promptly fell asleep as well) when nothing else would do.
Moments like this make me realize what a blessing it is to be a mother! Jane means the world to me. She is a little piece of heaven and a mix of (mostly) her daddy and me. Babies are incredible miracles! And to think...we all come to earth this way. We all start out helpless, full of trust, curious and teachable, loving and needing, and adorably sweet when we're asleep. Sleeping babes are so precious. He image of a sleeping child gives me such a feeling of peace and hope.
When I think of sweet Mary looking down at her baby, Jesus, I think she must have had those feelings to. What joy enters the world when a baby enters into it. They have the potential to change the world. How grateful I am for the courage of Mary and Joseph. Becoming a first time parent is a life changing and self awakening experience. As a couple you learn what true sacrifice and love are, and how you'll act with little sleep. You discover strengths and weaknesses you never new were in you. There is a deep love for your family that immediately forms! I'm so thankful for the both of Christ, He is the Savior of the world and King of Kings. Thank goodness for sleeping babes!
