Grammy time is special time and we have felt lucky and blessed to have her in our home. I'm so grateful I have a mother who thinks it's important to come help after a new baby. I could not have done this week without her. James is on a business trip and I would have been alone with two kids under 1 1/2 and recovery from birth all alone. How thankful I am she's been here for me.
Minutes before her arrival Jane face planted into a mud pile, and that was the beginning to a week of fun! Jane is truly one of the busiest little ladies ever!!!!! She's loved having fun times with Grammy in the yard doing chalk, swings, slide, chickens, pool, digging, going on walks and running around. They sure ate up the sunshine and the few rainstorms as well.
Grammy gave Jane a special big sister gift: a baby stroller. Jane has absolutely loved this toy and every time she wakes from a nap or bed she grabs her stroller and rolls down the hall with a few "baby" stuffed animals riding along. It's adorable how much she loves it.
While Grammy was here we:
- made lots of yummy food, and ate it to!
- went to the Saturday market, and a shabby chic boutique
- had a library date with Jane
- played with cousins
- ate fudge and popcorn with Lara
- ate outside many a time
- sewed a TP
- collected eggs all week long
- went to a BBQ with my Cooking Club
- played with cousins
- painted with Jane
- splashed in the bath
- made cookies
- went to Williams 2 week appointment
- ate out together
- snuggled, changed diapers, burped, and cleaned William!
We packed it in for sure, to the very last second. That's a trait we inherited from Grammy ;) for sure! It's so interesting to watch traits and characteristics be passed down generation to generation. I'm quite a mini-me of my mom and Jane is becoming quite the mini-me of me! I love families and the complete joy they can and should bring to life!!! We are SO excited to see dada/Mister tomorrow! He's been off at a conference in San Fran for 4 days and we are so excited to give him hugs and kisses and to have him home.
