Grammy's Birthday

"I wish every child in the whole wide world had a Grandmother just like YOU!"

Today marks another year the world is blessed with the life of Barbara Sorensen Cahoon! My mother celebrates her birthday today and we wish we could be there to give her a kiss and hug! I miss her every day! Especially when I see or hear of women hanging out with their moms on a regular basis. She is one of my very favorite people to be with and sometimes I just really would love to have her over to bake cookies, go on walks, visit the temple with, have tea parties with Jane....the list is endless of the things I would love to do with her weekly! But alas a 12 hour drive and a few states does not permit that dream! So instead for this year we gifted her a walk with us :). Jakes filmed and played the piano and I sang a tune my Grandma, Barb's mother, wrote in the LDS Children's Hymnbook. And Jane was the star of the film :). We love teaching her about the importance of family and instilling our family motto as a family to be "tight like into a dish." And to achieve that caring about each other sincerely and frequently is so important. My mother has taught me that, and so much more!

Barb Cahoon is a woman of greatness and I love and admire her a great deal! She is a wonderful cook, knows how to make life meaningful, loves chocolate, works harder than many women I know, gives service with a grateful heart, has great faith, will roll down hills with me, takes her children on one on one special occasions (NYC, the WA coast and my PA mission are among my top faves!) and is just plain old wonderful. Happy birthday to the greatest Barbara I know!! We love you Grammy/Mom!
