Good Pictures!

We had a wonderful Family Home Evening on this beautiful night. A picnic by the temple and a talk about good pictures. We bought this book when we were first married over 3 years ago, and tonight we shared it with our first child, crazy. It is such an important topic and one we want all our children to have a strong understanding of. The book is awesome, but we did have to simplify major for a not even two year old. James heard from a man who had taken a course from a great professor who helped individuals with pornography addictions. He had stated that you really should start introducing and teaching this subject two years earlier than you think to your children. So we felt it was the time to start with Miss Jane.

Pornogrpahy (bad pictures) really is a growing and addicting in our society. Men and women alike are pressured and targeted. Not only is it unhealthy for body and spirit but it destroys families and individuals. There is a false reality of pleasure, love, sexuality and beauty in inappropriate images. It is not real and it is not lasting. Our children will be subjected at a much earlier age to the great amount of filth that permeates the visual stimulus of the world. They must know how to react upon seeing images that can hurt and ruin their life. Self image is a big piece I feel for young women hat is negatively affected by the mass production of Pornogrpahy. Learning a sense of dignity, self worth, chastity and modesty is so key to raising a strong woman. And then for the young men  there is a whole array of negative results with Pornogrpahy. A young man should be taught the joy of lasting love and real beauty. They should be encouraged to seek women who live and uphold those values and praise them for those efforts. So many of today's children and youth have false ideals and images of what being "cool" and "important" look like. Don't impress by meeting the worlds standard, cause anyone can live the standards of our base society. But it takes something more to live the standard of the Lord. Living the way He has commanded may never be popular but it will be happier and longer lasting.

How grateful I am that the importance of fighting the addiction of Pornogrpahy is being addressed. The children in our world must know earlier about so much adult content they will most likely be introduced to at a young age. They must know how to react and respond to it. I am thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who teaches us the great respect our bodies need and how we can keep them clean! Happy is the one who knows who they are and why they live the way they do.
