Our very last garden tomatoes have been put to use. I decided on this lovely fall afternoon it was high time to get rid of all the tomato bowls I had around the kitchen. So of course homemade soup came to mind. There is really nothing better (well maybe hot cocoa ;)), than a bowl of delicious soup and a melted cheese sandwich on a chilly day.
After being in the computer a while doing design work, little Lady Jane woke up. I cut her up some cheese and gave her some yummy pear/raspberry applesauce and began my soup making while she ate. It was fun cutting up all those home grown tomatoes and thinking about how fun it was to have a garden! I can't wait to plant again next year and see what delicious things we can make again.
We really want to be better at canning so that we really can enjoy our garden all year long! Maybe next year we can get Soup stowed away for winter and some Marinera sauces! Mmmmm fall is a yummy time of year!!
